Clu Clu Land
Clu Clu Land
Take a deep breath and prepare for a puzzle game set in the underwater kingdom of Clu Clu Land. The greedy Sea Urchins have stolen all of Clu Clu Land’s gold bars and buried them in a series of mazes. As Bubbles, a brave bubble fish, you’ll set out to uncover all of the gold bars in each maze. But you’ll have to be careful: Sea Urchins will relentlessly pursue Bubbles, and there are also dangerous black holes that must be avoided. Bubbles isn’t defenseless, though, as she has the ability to stun Sea Urchins with sound waves and quickly change direction using posts scattered throughout the stages. Not only that, but the locations of the gold bars in each maze form the outline of another object—so once you know the object, you’re well on your way to finding the gold! With 20 stages to complete and increasingly complex conditions (like having to pass over the gold bars twice to uncover them), you might just want to bring along a friend for help.

I imagine this ebay auction may be of some interest to Vectrex collectors. Its an unopened Vectrex still sitting in its box since 1983. The auction is up to 325 US at the time of this post.
The seller had this to say:
This was an amazing find, a friend's Father was a technology collector in the 80's and had this in his garage, UNOPENED! The box shows some wear from over the years. It sat in the same spot for over 20 tears with a small basket on top of it.
I wonder what the winner will do with it, place it on another shelf for another 20 years, or open it and fire that sucker up!

20 Years of Nintendo Power
A new "Collector's Special" is out at newsstands entitled. 20 Years of Nintendo Power: A history of Nintendo through the pages of the official magazine. People are already throwing around rare and limited edition with this 68 page glossy special. A bit short for the money but it isn't full of ads and has some fresh writing in it, not rewarmed Nintendo Power copy. If you can find it in stores its retailing for just under 10 bucks. I looked on ebay and one was up there at 30 bucks plus shipping with some time left. Considering the lousy economic picture lately maybe this collectors special is worth investing in.

Limited Edition NES Controller Jacket
This limited edition premium Nintendo varsity jacket features the Nintendo Controller appliqued on the back and a small controller appliqued on the front left chest. The jacket has a thermal insulated lining and buttons up in the front.
I've been keeping my eye on this jacket for a while and it looks like the number of jackets left for sale is pretty low. Adult XL is already out of stock but if you can squeeze into a large you can still grab one for $200 bucks. They made a limited run of 1,000 and I would imagine healthy sales may move them towards other themed jackets. SNES controller jacket anyone?

Heres a cart to keep an eye out for キン肉マン マッスルタッグマッチ also known as Tag Team Match M.U.S.C.L.E. This special edition went for ¥921,000 at auction which is about 10,000 US dollars.
Where are the commercials today where Sony trashes Microsoft in side by side comparisons? Back in the day companies like Mattel weren't afraid to mercilessly attack the Atari 2600's capabilities.
I got 100%, how bout you?
George hates Atari and doesn't care who knows it.
I didn't know! I didn't know!
Total destruction of a planet, is cool.

Nintendo in the Sears Catalog
Heres a nice collection of scans from catalogs and ads from magazines. Includes Atari, CD-i, Nintendo, Sega and TurboGrafx-16 systems. The quality is pretty high so you can actually read how much everything cost when it was new.

Sega Radica 6in1
Another Plug n' play console revisit is the Sega Genesis Radica, this ones a little different because most of the components sit in a miniature genesis system. Amazon thinks its takes batteries but the ebay auction lists it as having AC power. Maybe it has both.
The one currently on ebay looks to be in pretty good shape, with some tag residue on the controller. The Sega Genesis Radica has been released in several different versions. Including a streetfighter one.
The games that are included version shown are:
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
The Ooze
Gain Ground
Ecco the Dolphin
Columns
Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle
