Brand New Commodore 64 Edition Released

A new retro style Commodore 64 is set to hit the home PC market in the coming months. Commodore USA, LLC was founded April of last year and it's determined to bring the Commodore computer brand back into the forefront of a already crowded field. One of the first products they are looking to release is the Commodore 64x computer. Made to look like the original Commodore 64 the new version has the similar beige case, brown keyboard and the classic C64 logo. Inside the Commodore 64x will be all the components of a newer PC. Would be nice to see some more actual C64x product photos on the official site. As of this post the pictures are mostly renders.

OS:

Units come with the Ubuntu 10.04 LTS operating system on disk ready to install.
Commodore OS 1.0, along with emulation functionality and classic game package, will be mailed to purchasers when available.

Not really able to find anything listing the Commodore OS 1.0 release date. If you buy one of these retro styled Commodore 64x's today, expect system delivery between mid May and early June, 2011.

C64 Laptop

A fully functional Commodore 64 laptop using mostly original hardware and inserted into a custom made case that's only 2.35″ thick. Storage is from a SD card connected to a 1541-III DTV device which lets the card emulate a floppy drive. Some of the non original parts include a Gamecube power supply and a Nokia LCD screen. The design maintains a nice 80's vibe and you can't beat the feeling of typing on a old c64 keyboard.

Commodore64 30in1

The 30in1 from Mammoth Toys can be used for the numerous projects and hacks utilizing the built-in Commodore 64 computer capabilities. It can be made to run from an external power supply, and can even be modified to provide S-Video output.

Version 1 comes in a pyramid shapped box, has 128KB RAM 2MB ROM
Version 2 comes in a hexagon shapped box, has 2MB RAM 2MB flash
Version 3 boards are in a game called "Hummer of road racing"
