Atari 2600 S Video Mod

Sometimes the older gaming consoles don't mesh to well with the newer tvs, resulting in a picture that's less than satisfactory. Atari's 2600's are no exception. Ben Heckendorn has recently posted about trying out the Atari AV mod from www.longhornengineer.com. Besides higher video quality you also get a stereo mod in the board to split the audio into left and right channels. Detailed instructions are included so all you need is an Atari and a bit of soldering skill and you should be able to enjoy some sharp retro graphics.

Where are the commercials today where Sony trashes Microsoft in side by side comparisons? Back in the day companies like Mattel weren't afraid to mercilessly attack the Atari 2600's capabilities.

Atari Games that never were, brought to life with relabeled Atari cartridges. Maybe in an alternative universe they actually exist and are extremely popular. 15 in all, including Call of Duty 4 for the 2600 and a lolcat themed cart.

A million 7800 and 2600 games mint in box.

A limestone cave would be the last place I'd store a million mint condition atari video games. But a liquidation company in Kansas City, MO did just that. O'Shea, Ltd decided in the early 90's to buy up nearly 3 million unsold Atari games and has been selling them ever since. The games are for the 7800 and 2600 and are in their original never before opened boxes from the 70's and 80's. Each sells for $5.00 each plus shipping. Games they still have new in stock include...
